About
My heart beats faster every time I return to the Oslo Fjord. Keywords: The skerries, polished by the inland ice during thousands of year at our last Ice Age, the seas pounding on the orange colored rocks or lying like a mirror a glorious morning. The steep forested hillsides in the inner part of the fjord. The sailing boats spreading their wings towards the sky.
In the outer and southern part of the Oslo Fjord, the fjord widens and here is a more rugged coastal landscape. Here you experience desert islands with white sandy beaches, narrow sounds, rocks that have been worn smooth by wind and water, high cliffs, and many picturesque fishing villages. The idyllic narrow alleyways between wooden houses, Photogenic harbours, salty air and fresh seaside smell!
Photographically, Oslo Fjord is very appealing all year round with lots of small islands, sailing yachts, attractive towns and villages, and a fast changing weather creating drama. Fall in love with winter, meet spring with joy, enjoy summer and let yourself be embraced by the cosy autumn. Come find your own favorite spot by the sea! The 100-km-long Oslo Fjord is the scenic gem of the Oslo area. This is were I grew up and will always return to.
Welcome to Oslo Fjord Pictures! My name’s Eirik Dahl and I run this site. I’m a commercial and editorial photographer. This site is my place to show my twin passions of photography and my love for the Oslo Fjord.
My childhood memories really come back to me when I visit the places along the Oslo Fjord. Since childhood, I have always had a passion for photography and outdoor life by the Oslo Fjord.
For over ten years, I have built up a large archive of photos from the Oslo Fjord region. Throughout my career my work has covered a wide range of photographic genres, including portraiture, documentary, nature, commercial work and advertising material.
Most recently, my passion for nature and photography has come together to create this photography website, a unique photographic study of nature and history by the Oslo Fjord, as well as visual storytelling from today's modern society.
